Abstract
Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) technology has been a highlight spot in the high speed, large capacity optical communication system. In this paper, firstly, the Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM) system, which will be applied widely in Local Area Network (LAN) and Metropolitan Area Network (MAN), and its specialities, are introduced briefly. Then, some of the key technologies in CWDM are studied in detail, such as Light Source technologies, Fiber technologies and Multiplexer/Demutiplxer technologies.
