Abstract
Based on the analysis of the characteristics of fluvial process and the trend of development at Xinjizhou branched channel on Yangtze River, the regulation shcemes were studied through model tests. According to the regulation principles of branched channels in the middel and lower reaches of Yangtze River, the blockage scheme of middel channel at Xinjizhou branched channel were adopted. Although the scheme had certain impact on the diversion condition at left and right branches of Xinshengzhou and Xinjizhou,it would be helpful to the development of Xinjizhou branched channel towards the river with stable double branches.
