Abstract
Using P2 medium as the substrate, the effects of glucose concentration, yeast extract concentration and initial pH on ABE(butanol, acetone, ethanol) fermentation of Clostridium acetobutylicum were studied. The optimal fermentation conditions were as following: initial glucose concentration 60g/L,initial yeast extract concentration 3g/L,initial pH 6.8,inoculum 5%,fermentation temperature 37℃ and fermentation time 72h.Under these conditions, the concentrations of total solvent ABE reached 13.52g/L,in which butanol was 8.83g/L,acetone was 3.90g/L and ethanol was 0.79g/L.The ratio of butanol was 65.31%.The average conversion rates of glucose to butanol and glucose to total solvent were 21.1% and 31.3%,respectively.
