Survey on Self-esteem of Nursing Students in 3 Medical Colleges and Analysis of Influencing Factors

Objective To investigate the self-esteem of nursing students and its influencing factors in order to provide a basis for occupational mental education. Methods SES and Stress Scale were used to investigate 345 nursing students and the influences of education degrees, age, family and family income on their self-esteem were analyzed. Results The total score of students’ self esteem was (29.4±3.8) and multiple regression analysis showed that the main influencing factors included the number of children in the family, their posts in the class, their education degree and stress (P0.05). Conclusion Enhancing the positive influence of education degree and post in the class on self-esteem and decreasing the influence of family and stress can effectively protect the student's self-esteem.
