Abstract
A process was reported to produce oligo-ethyleneglycol ethyl ether acetate by inserting ethylene oxide(EO) between the carbonyl and ethoxy group of ethyl acetate(EA) over special acid-base catalyst. The product was characterized by FTIR and ESI-MS. It was found by GC that the catalyst AB-5 has the highest product selectivity of ethyleneglycol ethyl ether acetate(EGEEA).The optimum selectivity of w(EGEEA)=51.5% was obtained under following reaction conditions:the amount of catalyst 1.1 g/100 g ethyl acetate, the initial pressure 0.1 MPa,the reaction temperature 145~150 ℃,the molar ratio of EA to EO 5∶1 and the feed rate of EO 0.25 g/min.
