Abstract

Based on the analysis of the combustion characteristics of LHR diesel engine,a quasi-dimensional three zone model was constructed by using a simplified calculation of fuel injection rate,and in this model the heat radiation in both the fuel spray area with high temperature and the burned gas area was taken into account.A program was compiled for calculating in-cylinder combustion of LHR diesel engine with different heat insulation condition,and the in-cylinder combustion process of a Model 12150L diesel engine,in which the combustion chamber surfaces was coated with ZrO2,was calculated.The results indicate that the ignition delay period decreases,the combustion duration increases and the post-burn period increases.Compared with other two adiabatic modes,the ignition delay period is longer and the combustion duration is shorter when TBC was coated only on piston crown.
