Abstract
Objective To study the effect of the mixture of Dendrobium candidum and Panax quinquefoliumo on physical fatigue alleviation in mice of different genders. Methods The female and male mice were divided into 4 groups, including one negative control group and 3 experimental groups with low doses of 1.00 g/kg,middle dose of 2.00 g/kg and high dose of 6.00 g/kg,respectively.Each group was poured with the specific thing into stomach through mouth for 30 days.Indicators such as weight bearing swimming time and liver glycogen, urea nitrogen and lactic acid in serum after swimming had been examined. Results Compared with the negative control group, weight bearing swimming times prolonged, urea nitrogen in serum decreased significantly in female mice in all 3 experimental groups, while these changes were not found in male mice.Hepatic glycogen content of female mice increased significantly in high dose group. Conclusion The mixture of Dendrobium candidum and Panax quinquefolium has the effect of alleviating physical fatigue in female mice, but not in male mice.
