Abstract
Objective To investigate the psychologic status and personality characteristics of undergraduate students in a university in xi'an,and provide evidence for mental health education in undergraduate students. Methods Symptom Checklist-90(SCL-90) and Eysenck Personality Questionnaire(EPQ) were used in a questionnaire survey in 442 undergraduate students. Results SCL-90 showed score of depression in freshman was significantly higher than that of junior(P0.05).Score of anxiety increased progressively with the grew of school age, there was a significant difference between different genders in score of anxiety(P0.05),as well as in score of phobia(P0.05).EPQ showed that there was no significant difference between males and females in each factor score of EPQ except the score of dissimulation(P0.05).Scores of extraversion-introversion and dissimulation in EPQ were significantly negatively correlated with scores of most factors in SCL-90,while score of psychosis in EPQ was significantly positively correlated with scores of most factors in SCL-90.Conclusion More attention should be paid to psychologic problems in undergraduate students, which are related with their personalities.
