Abstract
Objective To study the clinical significance of changes in serum levels of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(Hs-CRP) and homocysteine(Hcy) in patients with coronary heart disease. Methods Serum levels of Hs-CRP and Hcy were detected in 25 cases of stable angina(group A) and 41 cases of unstable angina(group B) at admission. All patients were examined with coronary angiography.Analysis on their correlation was made with the result of vessel area. Results The mean serum level of Hs-CRP in group A was lower than that of group B,their difference was statistically significant(P0.05).The mean serum levels of Hs-CRP and Hcy had positive correlation with vessel area(P0.05).Conclusion The serum levels of Hs-CRP and Hcy may play an important role in pathogenesis of unstable angina and they may be correlated with the degree of impaired coronary artery in patients.
