Abstract
Objective:This study was sought to explore the effects of the butter on the serum high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP),interleukin-6(IL-6) and acute atrial fibrillation of rabbits.Methods:30 rabbits were randomly divided into normal control group(n=15) and butter group(n=15).The butter group was given artificial butter orally for 4 weeks, then received trans-esophagus pacing electrodes through thoracotomy(combination of process pacing and burst) to stimulate pulmonary vein for establishing rabbit model of acute atrial fibrillation.Rabbits were divided into atrial fibrillation(AF) group and non-AF(NAF) group. The double-antibody sandwich ELISA method was applied to detect serum hs-CRP and IL-6 levels. The serum hs-CRP and IL-6 levels before stimulation were compared between AF group and NAF group. The serum hs-CRP and IL-6 levels before and after stimulation were compared between butter group and normal control group. Results:Serum levels of hs-CRP and IL-6 in AF group were higher than those in NAF group(P0.01).Serum levels of hs-CRP and IL-6 in butter group were higher than those in normal control group(P0.05).The prevalence of induced atrial fibrillation in butter group was higher than that in normal control group(P0.05).Conclusion:The higher the levels of serum hs-CRP and IL-6 was,the more atrial fibrillation may easily be induced.Pre-con trolled serum hs-CRP and IL-6 levels will be able to effectively inhibit the incidence and persistence of atrial fibrillation, the study suggests that inflammation may play an important role in the occurrence and persistence of atrial fibrillation.
