Abstract
Objective To detect pesticide residues on fruits and vegetables in Beijing city, and to investigate pesticide abuse in surrounding areas.Method The samples of fruits and vegetables were collected in a large-scale market, and the pesticide residues were measured. 73 farmers from vegetables planting bases in surrounding areas were surveyed with the questionnaire of pesticide application, and Epidata 3.1 and SPSS 13.0 analyzed the results. Results The random sampling contained 2?196 samples belonging to 70 categories. The paranormal samples added up to 49 samples belonging to 18 categories, and the over-standard rate was 2.23%. The results of rural survey demonstrated that the pesticide residues were mainly caused by frequent use of pesticides, the short time interval, the ignorance of pesticide residues and the abuse of high-toxic or high-residue pesticides which were forbidden by the national. Conclusion In order to insure the safe use of vegetables, we should exert more efforts onto promoting the recognition of pesticide residues as well as enhancing the surveillance of pesticide residues in markets.
