Survey on HIV Infection and Related Factors and High Risk Behaviors among Men who Have Sex with Men in Dalian City,2009

[Objective] To study the characteristics of sexual behavior and HIV infections among men who have sex with men(MSM) in Dalian city,so as to provide basis for intervention.[Methods]Snowballsampling was used from April to June,2009,a questionnaire investigation and serological examination were conducted among 402 MSM.[Results]Of the 402 MSM investigated,357(88.81%)of them had homosexual in recent half year.9.52% of 357 MSM never used condom at homosexual,the rate of occasional use and insistence on use was 35.29% and 55.18%;2.24% of them paid for sex and 21.01% sold sex,an average number of partners was 2.38 and 17.Among 402 MSM,136(33.83%) participants had female sexual partners in the half year,41.91% of them never used condom and the rate of occasional use was 21.32%,the rate of insistence on use condom was 36.76%.The prevalence rate of HIV and syphilis was 4.48% and 13.93% among 402 participants and 4 MSM got infected with both.Multivariate logistic regression analyses demonstrated that being old and no acceptance of preventive interventions intensified HIV infections.[Conclusion]High risk behaviors of HIV exist in MSM,preventive interventions are effective,the middle aged and the old are the key populations for HIV prevention and control.
