Abstract

In order to investigate the feasibility of capturing CO2 by fine spray method, experimental studies on CO2 capture in a spray scrubber were carried out.Fine spray of monoethanolamine(MEA) solutions contacted reversely with the artificial flue gas in the reactor, which can achieve high CO2 removal efficiency(above 95%).Effects of different operating parameters on CO2 removal efficiency were investigated, including concentration of MEA solution, liquid flow rate, gas flow rate, temperature and concentration of CO2.Experimental results show that the MEA concentration and gas flow rate has important effect on CO2 removal efficiency. At the low MEA concentration,CO2 removal efficiency increases with the liquid flow rate increasing. At the temperature of 28~32℃,the higher temperature and lower CO2 inlet concentration are beneficial to promote CO2 removal efficiency. The influencing regularity can be summarized as the effects of mole ratio of reactants,liquid-to-gas ratio and temperature. The main influencing factor for the absorption of CO2 is mole ratio of reactants.
