Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical effectiveness and long-term effect of interventional sclerotherapy under ultrasonographic guidance on large and massive hepatic hemangioma. Methods The sclerosant was injected into the hemangioma from different spots and directions under the guidance of ultrasound. The dose of drug was based on the volume of hemangioma and planned to inject in different times. Results A total of 3750 patients, the disappearance rate and basic disappearance rate was 98.45%, 1.55% in nodules; 30.25%, 31.65% in the large; 5.1%, 0 in the massive, and the contracture was 1/2-2/3 in 94.9% in massive hemangioma. The total effectiveness rate was 100%, and the complication rate of bleeding in liver was 0.134%. Conclusion Interventional sclerotherapy for large nodules and large hemangioma were the best period of treatment. No recurrence was shown and no harm to liver, kidney function in long-term observation. This is an effective therapy for hepatic hemangioma.
