Abstract
Objective To investigate the efficacy of shoulder three-needle acupuncture plus neck Jiaji Points in treating shoulder periarthritis.Method A hundred patients with shoulder periarthritis were randomly allocated into a treatment group and a control group,50 in each. The treatment group received shoulder three-needle acupuncture plus neck Jiaji points and the control group received shoulder three-needle acupuncture only. The McGill Pain Questionnaire(MPQ) was adopted in evaluation before and after treatment.Result The recovery and markedly effective rate was 92.0% in the treatment group, versus 74.0% in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P0.05).After treatment, the scores in the treatment group evaluated by MPQ were markedly different from that in the control group(P0.05).Conclusion Shoulder three-needle acupuncture plus neck Jiaji points is effective in treating shoulder periarthritis.
