Diagnostic Value of Anti-LAM-IgG in Blood for Rapid Tuberculosis Detection

Abstract

Objective To understand the diagnostic value of Anti-LAM-IgG in blood for tuberculosis detection. Methods All subjects received blood LAM-IgG test with the FDTB Diagnostic Kit for tuberculosis. Results The positive rates of anti- LAM-IgG were 92.0%,78.3%% and 75.5% in 125 patients with positive smear pulmonary tuberculosis, 267 patients with negative smear pulmonary tuberculosis and 94 obsolete pulmonary tuberculosis respectively. The positive rates of anti- LAM-IgG was 83.3% and 47.6% in 36 extrapulmonary tuberculosis and 315 non-tuberculosis cases respectively. The sensitivity and specificity of anti LAM-IgG in blood to diagnose the tuberculosis were 82.7% and 52.4%. Conclusion The Anti LAM-IgG in blood for rapid tuberculosis detection is more convenient than that in serum sensitivity, and low specificity. The test cant substitute for sputum smear test. It isn't the final diagnosis for negative smear patients, but it is useful tool for adjuvant diagnosis of negative smear patients and screening diagnosis of suspected TB cases. It is one of the diagnosis methods for extrapulmonary tuberculosis detection.
