Abstract
Objective:To analyze the relationship between central corneal thickness (CCT) and intraocular pressure (IOP) reading. Methods: 307 eyes undergoing excimer laser photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) and 257 eyes undergoing excimer laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) were collected in the study. Diopters before operation ranged from -2.50 to -15.00D; Diopters followed over one year after operation ranged from -1.00 to +1.00D. IOP reading was measured with noncontact tonometer; central corneal thickness were measured with ultrasonic corneal pachymeter. Pearson′s correlation analysis and partial correlation analysis were used to investigate the corelation among variances. Results: CCT was significantly correlated with IOP reading both before ( P 0.01) and after operation (PRK: r=0.510, P 0.01; LASIK: r=0.410,P 0.01). Partial correlation analysis was used to analyze the difference of CCT before and after operation and the difference of IOP reading before and after operation. Correlation of CCT with IOP reading was founded during controlling cutting spherical equivalent (PRK: partial correlation coefficient r=0.233,P 0.01; LASIK: partial correlation coefficient r=0.211,P 0.01). Conclusion: Significant relationship between CCT and IOP readings was found. [
