Expressions of CyclinD1 and P73 in buccal mucosa squamous cell carcinoma before and after chemotherapy and their clinical significance

Objective To study the expressions of CyclinD1 and P73 in buccal mucosa squamous cell carcinoma before and after combination chemotherapy with Oxaliplatin(L-OHP) and Tegafur(UFT) and their clinical significance.Methods Thirty cases of cancer tissue from the patients with buccal mucosa squamous cell carcinoma were selected as experimental group;10 cases of normal mucosa from the patients with benign tumor of buccal mucosa were selected as control group.Cancer tissue and normal mucosa tissue were divided into Group A(before chemotherapy),Group B(after chemotherapy) and Group C(normal mucosa).The expressions of CyclinD1 and P73 in each tissue were detected by Streptavidin-Peroxidase(SP) immunohistochemical method and flow cytometry(FCM).Results ① Immunohistochemistry: The positive expression rates of CyclinD1 in buccal mucosa squamous cell carcinoma before and after chemotherapy were 91.29±3.10% and 71.78±4.46%,respectively.The positive expression rate of CyclinD1 in normal mucosa tissue was 51.32±2.29%.The positive expression rates of P73 in buccal mucosa squamous cell carcinoma before and after chemotherapy were 88.97±4.2% and 72.14±11.6%,respectively.The positive expression rate of P73 in normal mucosa tissue was 53.49±5.01%.②FCM: The expressions of CyclinD1 in buccal mucosa squamous cell carcinoma before and after chemotherapy were 1.89±0.10 and 1.35±0.15,respectively.The expression of CyclinD1 in normal buccal mucosal cell was 1.0±0.04.There were significant differences among the groups(P0.01)).The expressions of P73 before and after chemotherapy were 1.75±0.18 and 1.29±0.15,respectively.The expression of P73 in normal mucosal cell was 0.99±0.04.There were significant differences among the groups(P0.01).Conclusion CyclinD1 and P73 may be the early events of carcinogenesis of buccal mucosa,which can be used as the auxiliary indicators for cancer monitoring and observation of clinical efficacy.
