Detection of cerebral arterial stenosis in patients with lacunar cerebral infarction

Objective To study the correlation between lacunar cerebral infarction and cerebral arterial stenosis.Methods 412 patients with lacunar cerebral infarction confirmed by CT or/and MRI were examined using transcranial Doppler(TCD).Of them,132 cases after TCD detection were further examined using magnetic resonance angiography(MRA).Result Out of 412 patients with lacunar cerebral infarction,127 cases were affirmatively confirmed by MRA to have cerebral artery stenosis. Conclusion The cerebral artery stenosis incurs at a higher rate in patients with lacunar cerebral infarction. Cerebral artery stenosis may play an important role in the process of lacunar cerebral infarction.
