Abstract
Tutor system for undergraduates is an outstanding mechanism in training students, with the emphasis on professional knowledge, application ability, and personality development. This paper discusses the necessity of undergraduate tutor system in the Information Science and Technology School of Zhejiang Shuren University based on undergraduate research mentoring system in Oxford University.Problems encountered in the implementation process are analyzed and thus appropriate tutorial mode is proposed for undergraduate in information technology. It is concluded that tutorial system can not only improve the overall capability of the students, but also improve the quality of teachers and the quality of teaching in the entire school. But it remains to be a challenge on how to give full play to the role of mentoring undergraduate research.
