On the Low-Carbon Economy Development Strategy of Main Countries

Abstract

One country usually takes a suitable development strategy for low-carbon economy on the basis of its social and economic background,development goal and technology level.This article explores the low-carbon economy development strategies of main countries such as U.K.,U.S.,Japan,Korea,India and Brazil.The results show that:the way one country adopts to develop low-carbon economy should be suited to its domestic conditions;low-carbon laws and policy planning are the institutional guarantee to low-carbon economy development;developing the new energy and renewable energy should be put on the top of the low-carbon economy's agenda;low-carbon technology is the key to the development of low-carbon economy;the low carbonization of traditional industries and developing new energy industry are the main direction of low-carbon economy.
