Abstract

Objective To analyses and evaluate the craniofacial growth changes of femal eclass Ⅱ division 2 malocclusion from adolescent to adult period. Methods Using computer to describe the skeletal and dentoalveolar cephalometric characteristics of 39 female Class II division 2 patients. The patients were divided into two groups. One included 20 adolescent patients, the other included 19 adult patients. Results There was a significant difference between the two groups, showing that SNA,ANB,Go-Pog,N-Me,U1-L1,U6-PP,L1-MP,L6-MP were decreased and Ar-Go-Me,GoGn-SN,Y axis,U1-NA(mm) were increased in the adult patients compared with the adolescent patients. Conclusion The mandibular counterclockwise rotation is the most important factor of deep overbite and female Class II division 2 patients should be treated as early as possible.
