Abstract
Objective To study the effect of atropine and compound tropicamide in mydriatic refractometry of juvenile with ametropia. Methods Forty patients with ametropia were divided into two groups by age(GroupⅠ,5-10 years old,n=40;GroupⅡ,11-20 years old,n=40).All eyes were examined by mydriatic refractometry after 1% atropine and compound tropicamide. Results There was a statistical difference in mydriatic refractometry between 1% atropine and compound tropicamide in group Ⅰ,but not in group Ⅱ. Conclusion Mydriatic refractometry using atropine is more accuract for the young patients with ametropia from 5 to 10 years old,but not necessary for the young patients with ametropia from 11 to 20 years old.
