Evaluation Model for Regional Urban and Rural Coodinated Development with Case Analysis

The urban and rural unbalance characterizing reginal difference in China means that it will be a long and arduous task to bridge the gap and to promote coordinated development between urban and rural areas.Based on an analysis of the unbalanced regional difference and the nature of urban and rural coordinated development,the paper selects a set of evaluation indexes and uses the principal component analysis and cluster ananlysis to build an evaluation model for regional urban and rural coordinated development.By applying this model to Gansu Province-a typical area that is lagging behind the whole country,this paper offers an empirical analysis and a preliminary evaluation of this province.
