Abstract
Objective: To explore the relationship between the processing of semen cuscutae and the contents of its effective components flavonoids and polysaccharides. Methods: The conents of flavonoids and polysaccharides in semen cuscutae and its processed products were determined by spectrophotometry. Results: The statistical analysis showed that the flavonoid contents in raw semen cuscutae were singnificiantly different from those in its different processed products; the polysaccharide contents in its processed products increased compared with those in raw semen cuscutae. Conclusion: The processing temperature and salt could stimulate the content change of chemical constituents in semen cuscutae, influencing flavonoids and polysaccharides in a different degree.
