Abstract

As one of the design skills of forming a garden, Garden within has different appearance in France and China in the golden period of history, which has many practices in modern time. Gardens in France and China are regarded as the quintessence of western and Chinese landscape in traditional ways in the 17th century, which have many comparisons in both countries. At the same time, the traditional garden is of great significance in guiding the modern Landscape Architecture. Garden within in the two countries in the 17th are compared in order to find the inherent characteristics of both countries and expound on modern practices based on heritage, with the aim of providing some references to modern Chinese landscape development.
