Abstract

In Chinese and English,color words play different roles and reflect different cultural value and connotations.This paper discusses and compares their cultural connotations of color words in Chinese and English—red and white,and analyses the unequal forms in translating color words in order to reduce communication barriers and realize harmonious intercultural communication for English learners.
