Determination of serum biochemical and hematological indices in healthy Beagle dogs and cynomolgus monkeys

Objective To establish the normal reference value range of hematological and serum biochemical indices in Beagle dogs and cynomolgus monkeys and to provide the basis for distinguishing the hematological and serum biochemical indices,normal or not.Methods Conventional 536 Beagle dogs(bisexual each half) aged 6-9 months and 172 cynomolgus monkeys(bisexual each half) aged 2-3 years old were selected as the experiment animals.Blood was collected from the radial vein in fore-leg of Beagle dogs(vein in fore-arm of cynomolgus monkeys).Biochemical and haematological indices were analyzed and detected by Hitachi 7060 Automatic Biochemical Analyzer and Advia 120 Automatic Blood Analyzer.The acquired data were then made statistical analysis.Results The normal reference on the mean and standard deviation of hematological and serum biochemical indices in both Beagle dogs and cynomolgus monkeys was obtained by analysis.Conclusion The normal reference value range of hematological and serum biochemical indices for both male and female Beagle dogs and cynomolgus monkeys are established preliminarily.
