Abstract
Phenol was determined by linear sweeping voltammetry in 0.01 mol·L-1 sodium borate solution of pH 9.18,using CeO2 nanoparticles modified carbon paste electrode as working electrode.A sensitive oxidation peak of phenol was observed in the voltammogram at the peak potential of + 0.56 V(vs.SCE).Linear relationship between values of peak current and concentration of phenol was kept in the range of 1.0×10-7-2.0×10-4mol·L-1 with detection limit(3s/k) of 5×10-8mol·L-1.As shown by the results of cyclic voltammetric study of electrochemical behavior of phenol, the redox electrode reaction at the modified electrode was proved to be an irreversible adsorption process.
