Abstract

Objective:To study the relationship between the changes of the concentrations of serum electrolytes and children febrile convulsion(FC).Methods:The concentrations of serum potassium, sodium, calcium, magnesium of 89 children with respiratory tract infec-tion complicated by FC and 80 children with respiratory tract infection were measured, and the relationship between serum electrolytes and FC attack was studied. Results:The concentrations of serum sodium, calcium, magnesium of FC group were significantly lower than those of control group(all P0.01);the concentrations of serum potassium had no significant difference between two groups(P0.05).And the concentrations of serum sodium, calcium, magnesium of FC group had significant difference between one convulsion and two or above(P0.05).Conclusion:The attack of FC is closely related with the concentrations of serum sodium, calcium, magnesium, and is not closely related with the concentration of serum potassium.
