Abstract

In recent years, the huge trade surplus and surging foreign exchange reserves have become the primary concerns regarding China's BOPs. General trade, which has turned from deficit to surplus and showed a momentum of rapid growth, is now the major source of China's trade surplus. Based on a survey in Liaoning Province, this paper makes a comprehensive analysis on the composition and influencing factors of the general trade surplus. It also presents recommendations for promoting the healthy development of general trade and the balance of payments, which will hopefully offer a reference for adjusting relevant policies.
