Abstract

There are three reasons that Cantonese Opera took part in 1911 Revolution: geographic advantage,the contentious traditions and promotion of revolutionary party.Cantonese opera especially Zhishiban extensively promoted revolution,mobilized mass and got support of the Silent Majority through drilling play as well as raising money;At same time,the sacrifaice spirit for country of Zhishiban has directly contributed to establishement of Confederate South Branch on one hand;Cantonese opera has played a promoting role in success of 1911 Revolution by launching overseas Chinese in Southeast Asia and Americas region to support
