Research on Dialects in Naming the Bronze Ware of the Spring and Autumn Dynasty

Whether the name of bronze ware has the composition of dialects, nobody has carried on special research. Considering the difficulty in naming the bronze ware and the wrong name it was once given, it may be more reliable to tell whether it was dialect or not by investigating and judge it through the inscription on itself. Basing on the name for bronze itself, we consider the four names of bronze ware, which are zheng ((?)), pen (盆), zhan (盏) and dan ((?)) are belonging to dialects, according to what they are affiliated, the unearthed time and place, the naming resources and the statements of other scholars.
