Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of Survivin protein、PTEN protein and the relationship between them. Methods Immunohistochemical stains were performed to examine the expression level of survivn、PTEN protein in 73 astrocytomas. The software package SPSS 12.0 was used for statistical analysis. Results The Survivin protein positive rate in 73 astrocytic tumors was 64.4%(47/73),and its positive rate was getting higher with the progress of tumor in malignancy(χ~2=6.900,P=(0.032));The PTEN protein positive rate in 73 tumors was72.6%(53/73),and its positive rate was getting lower with the progress of tumor in malignancy(χ~2=11.741,P=0.003);The Survivin protein and The PTEN protein were significantly correlated with the pathological grade of astrocytomas. Conclusion Survivin protein and PTEN protein were correlated with the progress of tumor; There may be negtive correlation between the expression of survivin and PTEN protein.Detection of Survivin protein together with PTEN protein was valuable for diagnosing astrocytmas.
