Abstract

Objective To compare the clinical efficacy of sodium hyaluronate and triamcinolone acetonide injection in the treatment of temporomandibular joint disorder. Methods 176 patients with temporomandibular joint disorder were divided into two groups, control group(n = 88) received intra-articular injection of triamcinolone acetonide, and observation group(n = 88) received sodium hyaluronate treatment. The clinical effect of the two groups was compared. Results After 12 months of treatment, the excellent rate of observation group was significantly higher than that of control group(70. 45% vs. 37. 50%), there was significant difference between the two groups(P 0. 05). After 6 months and 12 months treatment, bone and joint diseases, internal disorders and synovitis symptom improvement of observation group were significantly superior to those of control group, there were significant differences between the two groups(P 0. 05). Conclusion The clinical efficacy of sodium hyaluronate in the treatment of temporomandibular joint disorder is superior to triamcinolone acetonide treatment, and it is worth of clinical application.
