Study on Public Health Service Utilization and Its Influential Factors among Rural Residents in Hebei Province

Abstract

Objective To understand public health service utilization and its influential factors among rural residents in Hebei province and provide evidences for policy making of relevant departments. Methods By random stratified sampling and using selfmade questionnaires on public health service utilization( Cronbach's α = 0. 702),847 rural residents were investigated. And they were interviewed for the possible reasons of their answers. Results 53. 60% of the residents scored 4-6 points with the highest utilization rate lie in vaccination field and the lowest in rural renewal and health education fields. Influential factors of public health service utilization included gender,age,work nature,work time,dwelling environment,marital quality,and Chronic illness condition. Conclusion The public health service utilization among rural residents in Hebei province was in average level. More attention should be given to rural residents who are male,middle-aged,manual and long time workers,with no chronic disease,poor dwelling environment and marital quality.
