Abstract

A combined system of vertical anaerobic baffled reactor(VABR)system coupled with sequencing batch reactor(SBR)was established for treatment of nucleotide production wastewater. Results showed that when VABR operated at(37±2)℃,hydraulic retention time(HRT)of 24 hand COD volume loading of 13.4 kg/(m3·d),VABR achieved perfect treatment performance with COD removal rate reached more than 85%.The anaerobic microbes in VABR presented strong adaptive capability to nucleotide production wastewater. The aerobic activated sludge in SBR was adaptable to low concentration wastewater during the initial operating process, the COD removal rate was more than 80% with effluent COD maintained lower than 200mg/L.Considering the high colority and high Cl-concentration of anaerobic effluent, the advanced treatment processes was suggested to follow the VABRSBR process so as to achieve the standard discharge.
