Abstract
Objective To investigate the level of anti-sperm antibody(AsAb)in experimental varicocele rats and its effect on sperm quality. Methods Thirty rats were randomized into three groups:control group(n=10),model group(n=10)and treatment group(n=10).Experimental varicocele model was established in model group and treatment group by partial ligation of left renal vein.Computer-aided semen analysis system was used to detect the sperm density and motility. The levels of AsAb in serum and epididymal lumen fluid were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Results The sperm density in model group were significantly lower than in control group and treatment group(P0.05).The OD value of AsAb,and the sperm motility among three groups showed no statistical difference(P0.05).No correlation of sperm density and motility with the level of AsAb was found(P0.05).Conclusion AsAb has low level in rats with varicocele, but can not affect the sperm quality, suggesting that there may be no relationship between AsAb and VC.
