Abstract

A dynamic model of the herringbone gear transmission system is developed considering the time-varying mesh stiffness, gear errors. The time domain and frequency domain of dynamic bearing force are obtained by solving the dynamic model using Fourier series method. Taking the dynamic bearing force as excitation, the noise radiation of the gearbox is calculated by using FEM / BEM,and then the noise spectrums of different acoustic field points are obtained. Different noise radiation are computed by modifing the gearbox structure, the influence of gearbox structure that affect noise radiation are reaserched, then the rule of noise radiation with floors are obtained. The studies will provide useful theoretical guideline to the design of gearbox.
