Abstract
Objective:To probe operative methods of repairing bone defects near joints after removal of bone tumors or tumor like lesions. Methods: According to the characterisitic of fibular blood supply, segmental fibular grafts with vascular anastomosis were devised to repair bone defects in the proximal end of tibias and the distal or proximal end of femurs. Results: After a follow up of 3 months, bone grafts healed well in all 10 patients. Articular function was satisfactory. Conclusion: Above mentioned method has great advantages over that of cancellous bone grafting with vascular anastomosis or not in repairing giant cavitary bone defects near joints after removal of bone tumors, and semi joint allografts will be substituted completely.
