Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the effect of vascular anastomosis of fibular transplantation for treatment of bone defect from resection of bone tumor and phymatoid lesion.Methods:25 cases of bone defects due to resection of bone tumor or phymatoid lesion were repaired with an inlay grafting of vascular anastomosis with fibula. Results:Followed up for 1 to 8 years, bone fusion were obtained between the inserted graft of segment fibula and the implantation host bed in all cases. The bone tumor and phymatoid lesion did not recurrent. The outline and function of the repaired bone were satisfactory. Conclusions:The vascular anastomosis fibular graft could fill the bone defect from resection of bone tumor and phymatoid lession with the cortex bone shell of long bone continued. This operation had the advantages of promoting bone healing and moulding, less damage to the unmatured diaphysis and osteoepiphysis of children.
