Abstract
This paper analyzes the growth of total factor productivity of Chinese construction industry by means of non-parameter Malmquist index. The result of research is that in 1993-2003 the growth of Chinese construction industry TFP is due to technical progress, but reduction of technology efficiency gives a negative impact to it; Growth of construction industry TFP is different in east region, middle region, west region of China; Developing regions may catch up with developed regions through technology transfer.
