A Study on characteristics of related behaviors among men have sex with men in Kunming city

Abstract

Objective To understand characteristics of related behaviors of MSM to provide information for intervention purpose.Methods Convenient sampling and snow-ball method were used for questionnaire.Results HIV awareness rate among MSM is up to 85.8%,33.3% have bi-sexual intercourse during past 6 months,but 52.3% refused to use condom with female partners.Using condom when anal intercourse happened every time with boyfriends,temporary partners and commercial sex workers are 51.1%,57.5% and 52.1% respectively.59% choose public clinic for health sevice,27% take medicine by themselves,while other 14% go to private clinic or neglect at all.Conclusion Increasing coverage and promoting condom-using among MSM no matter with any kind of partners are the focus points for HIV intervention.
