Abstract

Choosing the SP kiln Portland cement clinker,NSP kiln Portland cement clinker and low thermal cement clinker to be calcined at the temperature of 1350 ℃,1450 ℃ and 1500 ℃ respectively, and each clinker sample calcined at different temperature was studied through XRD qualitative and quantitative analysis as well as lithofacies analysis. The results showed that,a lot of M1 and M3 types of C3S,little R type of C3S and no T type of C3S in the clinker calcined under the high temperature were found. Besides, the change of calcination temperature had great effect on the crystal form and content of each mineral in the clinker. As the temperature increased, the total content of C3S in the silicate minerals went up while the content of C2S went down, besides, the content of C3A in all of the three kinds of clinker decreased while the content of C4AF increased, and the total content of silicate minerals reached to a maximum. With the temperature increasing, crystal transformation in different degrees in the minerals, the type of C3S changed from M1 to M3 usually. The lithofacies of the clinkers varied according to the temperatures, and the results of lithofacies analysis agreed well with the results of XRD qualitative and quantitative analysis.
