Abstract

The ESL teaching in Northwest Community College in Canada has three main features.First,communication teaching method is adopted to train the students' language communicative competence.Second,current teaching materials are used in teaching.And third,the teachers are very experienced in teaching.We should learn from these features in the English teaching of higher vocational college and make some reforms in our teaching methods,teaching contents and teaching staff construction.
