Abstract
The significance of vascular endothelial growth factor for tumor angiogenesis has been well documented, VEGF-C, a new VEGF family member, its expression is known to be associated with the development of lymphatic vessels. Metastasis of breast cancer occurs primarily through the lymphatic system, and the extent of lymph node involvement is a key prognostic factor for the disease. Now the relationship between VEGF-C and breast cancer is reviewed.
