Abstract

Indian Television industry began in 1959.From then on, Indian state television DD had monopolized the whole industry for several decades.DD innovated itself in the mid of 1980s,while the traditional idea that television was the instrument for propagandizing and educating changed.There has been a tripartite confrontation including state television station,local business TV stations and foreign satellite TV stations since the 90s of 20th century.This article generalizes the development phases around the Indian television transition and analyzes the causes and effects.
