Abstract
Objective The distributive feature of Nogo(N 18) in the hippocampus and cerebral cortex of the rats was observed in order to reveal the significance of Nogo(N 18) expression in these regions. Methods Nogo(N 18)antiserum immunohistochemical SP (streptavidin peroxidase,SP) staining technique was used in the present study. Results The positive Nogo(N 18) immunoreactivity was very strong in neuronal nuclei of hippocampus and cerebral cortex of adult rat, but weaker in cell bodies and processes. In contrast, in fetal and neonatal rat, hippocampus and cerebral cortex neuronal bodies and processes were positive for the Nogo(N 18), but neuronal nuclei was negative.Conclusion Nogo(N 18) containing neurons are widely distributed in the hippocampus and cerebral cortex of adult and fetal and neonatal rats.\;[
