Abstract
The species diversity of bacterial communities in aerobic composting is investigated by coupling culture-dependent methods to PCR-DGGE(denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis) targeting 16S rRNA gene(rDNA).The results of plate counting indicate that population of bacteria composting process is higher-lower-lower trend,DGGE patterns during different periods show the presence of different populations,a few dominant species existed throughout the composting process.PCR-DGGE techniques provide useful molecular microbial ecology in assessing the changes in microbial community structure of composting.
