Abstract

Reasonable reactive power compensation methods for distribution networks can keep the systems voltage profile, reduce the active power losses of networks, increase the feeding capability of networks, and cut down the generating costs. Four schemes of reactive power compensation of distribution systems are compared technoeconomically in this paper to seek the optimal. And suggestions are given in view of some problems encountered in reactive power compensation of distribution systems.
